Bathroom trends change quickly, but tiles are a long-term investment. When choosing bathroom tiles in Perth, homeowners need more than style. They need materials suited to WA homes that handle moisture, daily use and still look relevant years from now.

With so many colours, finishes and formats available, it is easy to focus only on what is trending. This guide outlines the bathroom tile styles Perth homeowners are choosing now, along with the timeless options that continue to add long-term value.

Whether renovating to enjoy your home for years or preparing for resale, understanding what lasts versus what dates quickly helps you make a smarter decision.

Trending Bathroom Tiles in Perth for 2026

From Trendy to Timeless: Bathroom Tiles Loved Across Perth 2

Perth renovations are moving toward bathrooms that feel modern without being risky. The current direction favours neutral foundations, durable materials and controlled design features rather than bold, high-commitment statements.

Large format tiles for seamless finishes

Large format tiles remain one of the most popular choices in bathroom tiles Perth projects. Their minimal grout lines create a clean, expansive look that makes bathrooms feel larger and more refined. They are especially popular for floor-to-ceiling applications and walk-in showers, delivering a sleek, contemporary finish while remaining easy to maintain.

From Trendy to Timeless: Bathroom Tiles Loved Across Perth 3Herringbone Layouts

Herringbone and mosaic tiles continue to be standout features in Perth bathroom renovations, offering both visual interest and a timeless appeal. These layouts and formats allow homeowners to introduce texture, pattern and personality without overwhelming the space.

Herringbone tiles are especially popular for adding movement and sophistication. Whether used on shower walls, splashbacks or full feature walls, the angled pattern elevates even simple tiles like subway or stone-look ceramics. In bathrooms, herringbone layouts are often paired with neutral tones to create a refined, modern finish that still feels classic.

Hexagonal Mosaic tiles create a feature

Hexagonal mosaic tiles have become a popular feature in bathrooms, offering a modern geometric edge while remaining versatile and timeless. Their honeycomb shape adds subtle pattern and movement, making them ideal for homeowners who want visual interest without overwhelming the space.

In bathrooms, hexagonal mosaics are commonly used on shower floors, feature walls and splashbacks. Their smaller format provides added grip underfoot, making them both a practical and stylish option for wet areas. Available in matte, gloss, stone-look and soft neutral finishes, they can suit everything from coastal-inspired interiors to contemporary luxe designs.

Feature Walls and Statement Splashbacks

Feature walls and statement splashbacks continue to shape Perth’s modern bathroom designs, allowing homeowners to introduce personality without overwhelming the space. Rather than tiling an entire bathroom in bold colours or patterns, many Perth renovators are choosing one focal area, such as the vanity wall, shower recess or bath backdrop, to create visual impact.

This might include decorative tiles such as, ceramic tiles, textured finishes, mosaics or contrasting colours that stand out against more neutral base tiles. Statement splashbacks are also becoming more refined, with subtle tonal variations, vertical stacking or herringbone layouts adding interest through pattern rather than colour alone. By combining timeless tiles with a feature element, homeowners can achieve a balanced look that feels current, trendy, yet timeless.

Timeless Bathroom Tiles That Continue to Perform in Perth Homes

While trends evolve, some tile styles consistently hold their value, especially when resale is a consideration.

Neutral Porcelain Tiles

White, soft grey, beige and stone-inspired tones remain reliable long-term choices. Neutral tiles appeal to a broader range of buyers and reduce the likelihood of a bathroom feeling dated within a few years.

They also provide flexibility when updating tapware, cabinetry or styling in the future.

Classic Subway Tiles

Subway tiles have maintained relevance for decades because of their versatility. Their simple rectangular format works across heritage homes, coastal properties and modern builds.

They can be laid horizontally for a traditional look, vertically for a more contemporary finish or in herringbone for added detail. This flexibility is what keeps them consistently in demand.

Stone-Look Tiles

Stone-look porcelain tiles deliver natural texture without the sealing and maintenance requirements of real stone. In Perth homes, particularly coastal and contemporary builds, these finishes add warmth while remaining durable and low-maintenance.

They effectively bridge the gap between current trends and long-term practicality.

Choosing Bathroom Tiles that Last in Perth

Bathroom tiles must perform as well as they look. Bathrooms are high-moisture environments where surfaces are exposed to water, cleaning products and daily wear.

When selecting tiles, consider slip resistance for wet areas, scratch durability, water absorption rates and maintenance requirements. For bathroom floors in Perth homes, slip resistance should be prioritised, especially in family residences or investment properties.

If resale value is part of your renovation strategy, keep major surfaces neutral and introduce personality through controlled feature areas. Avoid committing to bold colours across entire walls or floors, as this can limit future buyer appeal.

The benefits of using tiles in bedrooms to reduce dust and allergies 5

The benefits of using tiles in bedrooms to reduce dust and allergies

By Outdoor Tiles, Slip Resistant, Slip Resistant Tiles, Swimming Pool TilesNo Comments

When designing a home that supports comfort, wellbeing, and style, the bedroom deserves special attention. As the space where we rest and recharge, it should promote a clean, healthy environment that contributes to better sleep and overall quality of life. Often, however, the choice of flooring is overlooked, whereas it plays a big role in determining the overall comfort you’ll experience in this space.

At Ceramic Tile Supplies, we believe that great design should go beyond aesthetics. The materials you choose should work hard for your lifestyle, offering durability, practicality, and long-term benefits. Whilst not being the most obvious choice for bedrooms, tiles offer design versatility, as well as an ability to reduce dust and allergens which should make them one of the preferred choices for modern, health-conscious homes.

Dust and Allergens in Bedrooms: Why Flooring Choice Matters

The benefits of using tiles in bedrooms to reduce dust and allergies 6

Bedrooms can quietly accumulate allergens such as dust mites, pollen, pet dander, and mould spores. Traditional flooring options like carpet tend to trap these particles deep within their fibres. Even with regular vacuuming, many allergens remain embedded, becoming airborne again with everyday movement.

For allergy sufferers, this can lead to poor sleep quality, congestion, and ongoing irritation. Over time, the impact on health and comfort can be significant.

Tiles, on the other hand, offer a fundamentally different surface, one that does not harbour dust or allergens in the same way.

The Benefits Of Using Tiles In Bedrooms To Reduce Dust And Allergies

Bedrooms Tiles Create a Cleaner, Healthier Surface

One of the key advantages of tiled bedroom floors is their smooth, non-porous nature. Dust, dirt, and allergens remain on the surface rather than being absorbed, making them far easier to remove during routine cleaning.

A simple sweep or vacuum followed by a light mop is enough to maintain a hygienic environment. This not only reduces allergen build-up but also limits how much dust circulates through the air, helping to improve indoor air quality.

For households with asthma, allergies, or pets, this difference can be noticeable almost immediately.

Improved Indoor Air Quality

Indoor air quality plays a vital role in well-being, particularly in spaces where we spend extended periods of time. Some soft flooring materials and underlays can release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or retain moisture, contributing to unpleasant odours or mould growth.

Tiles, particularly high-quality ceramic and porcelain products, are inert once installed. They do not off-gas and do not support the growth of mould or bacteria when properly maintained. This makes them an excellent choice for those seeking a cleaner, more breathable bedroom environment.

Design Flexibility Without Compromise

Tiles are often seen as cold or clinical when used in bedroom spaces, when in reality, modern tile design offers warmth, texture, and sophistication, allowing homeowners to achieve a wide range of looks without compromising on comfort.

At Ceramic Tile Supplies, our extensive range includes options that suit both contemporary and classic interiors:

    • Timber look tiles deliver the natural warmth and character of wood, combined with the durability and easy maintenance of porcelain. These are particularly popular in bedrooms, where a soft, inviting aesthetic is desired without the upkeep of real timber.
    • Ceramic and porcelain tiles provide clean lines and timeless appeal, working seamlessly with rugs, layered textiles, and soft furnishings.
    • Stone look and decorative tiles can be used creatively for feature walls, bedhead designs, or architectural details, adding depth and interest while remaining practical and hygienic.

With the right selection, tiles can enhance the visual comfort of a bedroom just as much as its physical comfort.

Low Maintenance for Long-Term Living

Bedrooms should be relaxing spaces, not high-maintenance ones. Tiles are renowned for their durability and ease of care, making them a long-term investment that continues to perform well over time.

Unlike carpet, which can stain, fade, or require deep cleaning, tiles maintain their appearance with minimal effort. Spills, dust, and everyday dirt can be removed quickly and effectively, helping to keep bedrooms looking fresh and feeling clean.

Add to that their slip-resistant options, sturdy construction and low-maintenance nature, and you have a solution that ticks all the boxes for modern outdoor living, style, safety and long-lasting durability.

And while stone-look tiles have already proven themselves as a go-to choice for patios and alfresco areas, they also shine when it comes to swimming-pool surrounds. Offering the same blend of beauty, practicality and slip resistance, stone-look tiles bring a fresh, stylish and easy-care finish to any poolside environment.

The Benefits of Stone-Look Tiles for Swimming Pools

Aesthetics & Design Appeal: Stone-look tiles bring the authentic beauty of natural stone to your pool area, creating a luxurious and timeless look that works just as well in contemporary designs as it does in classic outdoor spaces. With a wide selection of colours and finishes, from warm travertine-inspired tones to soft sandstones and cool greys, they allow you to shape a poolside aesthetic that feels calm, cohesive and truly elevated.

Durability Built for Pool Environments: Unlike natural stone, porcelain stone-look tiles are exceptionally dense and hard-wearing. They stand up beautifully to the demands of a pool environment, resisting scratches, stains and constant exposure to water. Their durability makes them a reliable choice for high-traffic areas and ensures they continue looking great season after season with minimal upkeep.

A Slip-Resistant, Safer Option for Your Pool: Safety is always a priority around water, and many stone-look tiles are specifically engineered with textured or anti-slip surfaces. This added grip helps reduce the risk of slips and falls, giving you peace of mind while still maintaining a stylish and natural-looking finish around your pool.

Easy Maintenance for Everyday Living: Stone-look porcelain tiles are designed to be low-maintenance, a welcome advantage in busy outdoor spaces. Their non-porous surface makes them resistant to staining and helps prevent algae from growing, meaning less cleaning and more time enjoying your pool. With no need for ongoing sealing or specialist products, caring for your pool surrounds becomes refreshingly simple.

Slipping and falling is a major cause of home injuries for the elderly, children and people with reduced abilities. There is no need to compromise on tile selection when it comes to upgrading your bathroom to a slip rated floor. There are rectified tiles that have the modern look but still provide the required specifications. At Ceramic Tile Supplies, we stock a wide range of rectified and non-rectified, modern slip resistant tiles, great for making a bathrooms look fresh, modern and safe.

What to consider when choosing non-slip bathroom tiles

Commonly non-slip tiles are fully vitrified, glazed porcelain, due to their use in commercial applications. However now you can purchase a more cost effective standard glazed porcelain tile that will provide any domestic home with a floor that looks like a designer tile but is considered suitable for disability safe wet areas.

These tiles are available in all your normal tile sizes however installing smaller tiles can help provide even more traction. This is because they require more grout in between them, which adds to the overall texture of the floor and creates enhanced footing.

What makes a non-slip tile different from a normal tile?

Tiles come in various finishes, the non-slip varieties usually have an abrasive grip added to their glaze which is fired in when manufactured or the surface is textured in a particular way to create grip and friction when in use.

To determine the amount of grip or friction on the finish a tile can be graded with a slip-resistance test. There are 3 types of slip tests; Pendulum, Oil-wet inclining platform (or ramp) and Wet-barefoot inclining platform Test. All test the tiles friction against movement.

As a guide for when selecting a slip resistant tile for residential bathrooms aim for P3 from a Pendulum test, R10 from the Oil-wet ramp test or B from a wet-barefoot ramp test. Just keep in mind anything with more grip will make life harder when it comes to cleaning your everyday bathroom.

The Benefits of Slip Resistant Tiles 16

The reality is that many of these accidents could be so easily prevented with the help of slip resistant floor tiles. Our anti-slip flooring supplies have been manufactured to really stand the test of time. All slip-resistant tiles are certain to last substantially longer than their non-treated counterparts. Therefore, while you may pay slightly more in the short-term, you will be saving a significant amount of money in the long run.

The Benefits of Slip Resistant Tiles 17

Low maintenance

One of the biggest pros of anti-slip flooring is the fact that it requires minimal maintenance. The non-slip coating is designed to remain strong and intact despite the amount of foot traffic the floors receive on a daily basis. This is why this type of flooring is such a sought-after choice among both homeowners and business owners in Perth.

Different levels of slip resistance

Contrary to popular belief, there is not just one level of slip-resistance when it comes to tiling. You will have the option to choose just how strong the level of strip resistance is when buying your tiles. The level you choose will depend on more than just your preferences and budget constraints. It will also depend on where you plan on having the tiles installed.

Here at Ceramic Tile Supplies, we offer three different levels of slip-resistance, namely P3, P4, and P5. These ratings are based on the wet pendulum slip-resistance test. The test makes use of a swinging pendulum with a rubber foot that has been spring loaded. When the pendulum moves through the upright position, the rubber foot comes into contact with the wet test surface and slides over it.

From there, the level of the flooring’s slip-resistance is recorded. P3 is moderately resistant to slips and falls when wet, P4 is extremely resistant to slips and falls when wet, and P5 is about as slip-resistant as a type of flooring can get.

Generally, P3 flooring is perfectly suitable for most residential applications. However, business owners may want to consider P4 and P5 rated flooring for additional safety, especially in areas that are prone to moisture and where accidents are most likely to occur.
